Free Children's Yoga Class!

Children ages 6-9 are invited to a FREE yoga class on Saturday, January 7 from 2:30-3:30.

Melanie Sharp, RTY 200 and retired elementary school teacher will teach from the children's yoga curriculum called Grounded/Laughter/Elevation www.gogrounded.com.

Children will do poses, play games, and participate in some fun mindfulness activities. Kindness will be the class theme and children will practice being kind to themselves and to others.

Yoga helps children with strength, balance, and flexibility. Mindfulness activities teach children to focus, calm themselves when necessary, and to fully experience the world around them.

The class is free, but Melanie asks that you register your child ahead because space is limited. She can be reached at 404-217-6428 or at melaniersharp@hotmail.com.

Yamuna Body Rolling Workshops (YBR)

* Pre-registration required; No drop-ins. *

Unlike foam roller exercises, YBR is restorative fitness that goes far beyond random movement and stretch. The method uses specialized 6-10” inflatable balls to act like a massage therapist’s hands. They strategically provide traction and pressure to iron out tension and pain in all areas of the body. YBR liberates your body, prevents injury, and slows the aging process of your joints and structure. With just a few minutes of pro-active work, you can avoid the old-age restrictions that so many people have. Most people find YBR provides comparable sensations to a relaxing, deep tissue massage. Even those with physical limitations can benefit from using the balls. YBR classes and workshops help you release tension patterns and develop problem solving skills for your aches and pains. Instruction covers YBR theory, safety, and simple routines for each body part...using a ball, gravity, and your body weight to precisely target muscle and bone. Having a YBR self-care practice brings relaxation, renewed energy, and a better understanding of how to sustain your body in optimal alignment, freedom, and ease.

Balls provided for class (with purchase option). Wear form fitting clothes for best results.

Sacred Women's Circle

From the beginning of time women have always circled. In the ancient tradition of moon lodges and red tents, this time together can serve to enliven the deepest parts of ourselves and enrich our communities. A sacred woman's circle is a container for speaking our truths and witnessing one another with compassion as new insights begin to stir from the deepest parts of ourselves. This gathering will serve as an intimate time of sharing for women in all phases of life.
