Vagus Nerve Workshop

Saturday, August 24
1:00 - 4:00 PM
Led by Dennis Kast

It has long been known that the Vagus nerve effects many of the physical systems responsible for our health (digestion, circulation, respiration, etc.) Recently, more is being discovered on how much Vagal tone is important for our emotional well being. It is an integral part of the parasympathetic nervous system, which is the calming and soothing force in our bodies. It is said that polyvagal theory is the science of connection, of feeling safe enough to enjoy life. In this workshop, we will explore some of the latest findings about the Vagus nerve and how it effects our health and well being. We will then go from the theory to practice, sharing techniques from yoga, meditation and other mind/body practices which can have the direct effect of restoring and maintaining healthy Vagal tone.
